I understand what you are getting at. However, this observation of yours, that I fear is shared by others, still does not address the issue of what to do when we suspect that a very bad man/woman may be in possession of vital information that could halt the catastrophic loss of lives. I take it on common sense that it's possible to beat someone until they want to confess to overthrowing the Ming Dynasty, whatever that means, but I also know in as much as it's possible to know anything, that if you have a sadistic monster who won't budge his mouth, a sure fire way to get him to open up is to kick him in his (***) insert your own expletive. But that's just my opinion.

Arnie (the governator) is playing the federal government like a fine violin. I think we should bail California out, and then follow the money trail to see what entities are responsible for the deficit, and bring them all to justice. I don't like how Rachel Maddow is just taking this terrorist at his word. If he just "made up stories," and this makes him a liar, then couldn't he in fact be lying about having lied? How do we know what to believe? I'm not a Bush supporter either, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to take every GITMO detainee at his word. Many of these detainees are guilty of more than being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Terrorists aren't a myth like unicorns and magical elves, terrorists are real and there are actually bad people out there and the U.S. government was only doing its best to make certain that our country was safe.
