It's just what I could find on wikipedia in 2 minutes. Yeah, the formatting sucks. I'm not sure how to do a nice table in a sift comment

Might try to clean it up when I get home from work.

Nope, no terrorist attacks in the USA 2000 - 2008. Though there was quite a bit of state sponsored terrorist attacks in Iraq from 2003 on.

How To Make A Glowing Flower

invader says...

IANAC, but Phosphorus (from the matches) glows in the dark, so called phosphorescence. I imagine the combination of chemicals provides enough heat and the appropriate atmosphere to make the phosphorus from the match heads glow, though I think that would probably be a chemiluminescence effect instead.

Two news choppers collide while covering a car chase

Any death occuring during the comission of an unlawful act is criminally negligent homicide.

"The circumstance is the death during the commission of the unlawful act and the causation is any act that triggers a chain of events, which lead to the death of another person."

Hm, perhaps I missed the sarcasm, but there are just far too many religious nuts who would say that exact thing and be 100% serious, so you can never be too careful. My apologies for misunderstanding your comment!

In reply to your comment:
Invader, you must be mis-reading me in this thread. I feel the same way you do about religion... it's just a means to concentrate power and control the masses.

"that is the road to hell" HILARIOUS. You should be in a comedy club.

"Worship me or suffer!" Yeah, how nice and benevolent. If heaven's so great, why all the threats? If god is so great, why do we need to be bribed to worship him?

Religion was nothing but a tool to control the masses so the nobles and the elite could maintain their power. It still is to a large extent, but some people in the higher echelons actually believe this crap now, too.

Christian activists disrupt Hindu Senate invocation

invader says...

Christians once again showing off their compassionate and tolerant nature. On the other hand, *no* religion should be promoted/respected by any level of government. To the government, churches should be just another business (and taxed as such), because that's all they are.

God loves you -- fail to reciprocate and he will torture you

invader says...

Marr, starving to death in a desert is probably fairly painful (as I've not starved to death in a desert, I can only speculate). But things of that nature. Being able to feel pain, emotional, physical. Pure Love, as greatly undefined as it is (seriously, what would pure love be? The description itself defies anything meaningful.) would suggest that it would not create things that would have negatives. Unless love contains these negatives, but that contradicts . But hey, Pure Love is ultimately a meaningless description. And how can you be two pure things? The sky is Pure blue and Pure red. Doesn't work.

God loves you -- fail to reciprocate and he will torture you

invader says...

I want to provoke him to say more hilarious things, because there is no answer that could be given that is not absurd.

Yours are pretty funny, too. If god was pure love, as you state (and others have stated based on claims made in the bible), how can there be suffering?
Note, you said *PURE* love, as in, nothing but that. Why would you create things that suffer?

Fox spreading the idea that Mr Rogers was a bad influence

invader says...

I'm glad the weatherman is an expert.

And Mr. Rogers is clearly the only thing that affects self esteem.

People are special. Everyone is special and entitled to fair and equal treatment.

I think the bigger issue with kids feeling they shouldn't work for their grades is because their parents get up in arms when they precieve someone calling their kids stupid (which they often are). So the parents get up in arms and insist the teachers give their kids the grade the parents think they deserve, not what they earned. Worse is when teachers cave to this abuse and only reinforce the behavior in both the children and the parents. Same with parents who are appalled that their star quarterback son is kept from the game because he hasn't attended any of his classes.
