I don't think this is your typical electric motor... I think this is using magnets a la mag-lev train / super collider / rail-gun technology to spin the wheel. Unforunately the limiting technology for electric vehicles isn't in the motor, it's the battery. Ah well... but cool technology nevertheless if it is what I think it is. Can someone explain how the magnets moving out of the wheel seems to speed it up?

How did they load the excavator?

One - that kinda looked like they were at an airport - good thing that gull didn't get sucked into a jet intake. Two - doesn't really look like a "race car" from the inside... looks like a regular car with a tape deck and maybe AC. Three - is that really 180 mph? (although from personal experience ~80 mph pigeon = minor splat only and no broken windshield).

I think the camera-person did at least think about helping... right before the good samaritan takes this first whack at the dog you see the camera move up close and a left hand reach out to pet the pit bull. I wonder if the owner would have gotten even less than 6 months had it not been for the video.

I call entrapment - that store was a setup to catch criminals.

I'll bet this car makes more of a bang than the Pinto!
