I noticed the same thing when I started browsing reddit a while ago. Some sifters definitely use it as a source, but like dag said:Popular videos start showing up on alot of sites and eventually trickle down to other sites. Doesn't necessarily mean the videos were found on reddit.

Besides, I applaud all the sifters, who obviously put a lot of time and effort into supplying this site with content. I think it's understandable that some might have their go-to sites for new videos and don't fancy scouring the depths of the web in order to discover something before everyone else.

Why you insist on having crap videos take up the front page is beyond me.

Doens't make much of a difference to me personally. The reason why I rarely visit this site anymore is the lack of editorial content. Right now one of the prime spots (promoted videos) of this site is occupied by a video with 4 votes (desc in all caps btw, very nice).

I mean sure it's nice to give some individual the opportunity to promote a video of his/her choosing to the most valuable real estate of this website, but to what end? I feel theres really a lack of quality control here.

Wow, has it been that long? Well I'm psyched for 5.0. You and lucky are the Videosift Jesus, you can do no wrong so I'll take any change as positive. I'll be the (probably not) first and say by now I'm sick of the current design.

Sure but I was actually thinking about written jokes.

This video (currently #11 in the top 15) would have 0 votes. Not sure how you figured that the content would spread quicker to more people. Seems the opposite would be true.
