Thailand - The Men Who Love Ladyboys

*shrug*. Can't wait til nobody feels the need to figure it out. We're well past the point where prolific and abundant reproduction is a necessary part of our survival as a species...and....we have other problems.

They're happy with each other. Unless you want to drag some kind of puritanical/biblical morals into it, that's pretty much a wrap imho.

Why Dave Chappelle Quit Illuminati

As a white guy from europe, I feel the same way about my heritage: ie who cares?

BUT. There's some social context here, and context is everything. I could go on about it, but I think you know what the salient part is (slavery); you can research it and think about it yourself. I don't know what it's like to be an african american, but I imagine it plays a huge factor in identity and when shit gets heavy, one starts thinking about that stuff. His return to Africa isn't surprising at all, even if I don't fully understand it the way he does.

A question that always bothered me and that has almost nothing to do with this video: Why do so many African Americans think they have to go to Africa to find their roots? In Europe, in all countries except France, 99% of African people are really first or second generation immigrants from one of the dozens of Nations in Africa.
They have relatives living there.
I understand that.
African Americans have their roots as much in "Africa", as I have my roots in....I don't even know...Germany? France? Russia? Hungary?
I don't even know where my ancestors lived three hundred years ago.
And I don't care.
I don't get it.

I'm no biologist, but I'm pretty sure one has a penis dangling between its legs, and the other doesn't. =P

And yes, I can't tell male from female chimps, so me calling him a male is purely for convenience.

How to Pour the Perfect Guinness from a Can

bigbikeman says...

I usually pour this way (fully invert the can and just let it flow), but minus leaving the can in the glass. With a standard pint glass you can safely up-end it and pour until empty. No need to clean the can since it's never submersed.

I'm interested to try it this way now and see if there's any difference. For science.

Carl Sagan - The Humans

I'll borrow from ND Tyson here and echo that I think there is a *huge amount* we can gain from aiming our sights at something like Mars. What we learn...and how we fail, may underscore and inform the importance of keeping what we have.

We need a bigger perspective to grow. We always have.

If we can't keep this planet habitable, what other choice do we have?

Know what occupy wall street is about?

ok. About the same thing. Loss of true democracy, giving the rich a free ride on the taxpayers back, blah blah blah. But you knew that. Not really that hard to figure out dude. google.com. Try it. It works. None of it is really that hard to figure out either....unless you have an agenda.

"no strong opinion", but they are "whiners". Ok dude. fuck off.

Can someone explain the Greek riots to me? I've only followed far enough to have picked up that they are in opposition to the austerity measures being enacted by government? What I've heard sounds like the government spent so much on social services that it went bankrupt, and the protesters are angry that the government is now attempting to cut back it's social services.
I'm not of strong opinion on this like I am in many other situations, but the balance of what I've heard sounds like the anti-austerity protests are so much whining that everyone wants their free money and maybe if we shoot the messenger the economy will recover.
