You could have done the dupeof, any member can invoke it on their own posts... you just need to have gold star to invoke it on someone else's (it is extremely messy to clean up after a mistaken dupeof, plenty of gold stars have lost dupeof priveleges!).
In fact, I think it's not too late for you to do this, which will transfer your embed as a backup on the other one and also transfer votes.
