Colin Powell to Romney:"Come on, think!"
I would also like to see him run. But I don't think Obama has done a bad job.
>> ^Auger8:
I think we really missed out on a great President when Colin Powell decided not to run. That would have been a slam dunk win for him but I respect his decision to concentrate on his family. Still he's a very smart man with a strong military background and a born leader. He would have whipped this country into to shape years ago. He at least would have done a much better job than Obama.

Digital Photography Gurus: I got Questions... (Engineering Talk Post)
I was thinking of using the webcam because they are so fast at data transfer, whereas modern cameras have image download rates that are pretty limited.
Digital Photography Gurus: I got Questions... (Engineering Talk Post)
I found this: http://eosdoc.com/jlcalc/, but I don't really find it intuitive to use.
I am trying to make a cheap microscope with the webcam and macro lens. I know there are USB webcams out there. But the lens quality and field of view are pretty limited. I thought a macro lens might provide an excellent solution.

You might do at least minimal research before calling someone wrong:
"A vatrain is a maglev train run through an evacuated tunnel." -- The Whole Internet>> ^MycroftHomlz:
You're Wrong Charlie, you get no lifetime supply of chocolate. They actually only said in the video magnets make it go up. They did not say it was a maglev train. These are entirely different animals. It is called evacuated tube because of a vacuum. Thanks for the physics lesson though.

as said in the video, the cars don't move by sucking it through a straw, but by magnetic levitation....

OK... Just the physics of this is slightly stupid on the face of it.
So. Take a plastic straw. Put another straw on it. And another. Do this until you have a straw that is 4 feet long. Now try to drink a milk shake. The resistance of a tube is proportional to its length. So to make this work you would need to have numerous relay stations to charge up the vacuum. And they would have to be enormous mechanical pumps, which would be a nightmare to service and operate.
