Wheel momentum Walter Lewin.

The best part is what he said at the very end. Most of the stuff that the everyday person learns about science growing up tends to align pretty well with their gut feeling. But when it starts getting down to more complicated problems, not much is really intuitive. It bothers me when people are so quick to dismiss established science just because "it doesn't seem right" to them.

Shark Tank - Biggest Offer Ever - Nasal Screens

This seems like a decent piece of scripted drama, but I don't understand how nobody even checked his dubious "clinically proven" claim. Do they really think that the other investor checked for proof before purchasing some for his indentured servants? I wonder if they're just salivating at the chance to get chummy with some of that oil money.

Although, even if it does actually work, I don't think it would sell all that well in first world countries where people would rather be sick than look stupid. China on the other hand, might need to order a billion, or more likely build their own factory and sell it for 30 cents.

I don't know about the specific kids that they have, but I know that some kids with severe autism can become agitated very quickly and lash out violently. If that's the case with these kids, I don't see the harm in letting them cool off in the room for a while.

Louis Theroux did a great documentary on parents of autistic children that shows some extreme examples of this.

Seriously? Mystery Spot blew your mind?
A coworker told me to go to Mystery Spot. So I did. I was completely unimpressed. Not a single illusion was actually impressive.
I will forever be labeled a humbug, I suppose. Fine! Humbug it is. But I will cast judgement down from my humbug tower. You can't stop me.

When I was a kid, my elementary school had a field trip to the Mystery Spot and I remember it blowing my mind too.

Looking back on it, I really think my teacher should have told us it was just a trick.

Mythbusters test square wheels on a full size pickup truck

I was curious as to what myth this was debunking...

Turns out it's whether at a certain speed a square wheel could ride as smooth as a round one.

I love Mythbusters and I enjoyed the clip, but the show should really be called Answers to Questions Nobody's Asked + Explosions!
