I lived through hurricane Hugo in PR when it happened. It was a direct hit, very comparable to Katrina. We didn't have electricity for a month or running water for 3 weeks after, but we were not flooded and that is the big difference.
Remember those news casts of people stuck on their roofs? What did you want them to do, swim away? Where? How long do you expect to live waterlogged, or trapped in a stadium with no actual aid?
Your oversimplification of the situation is so amazingly stupid, I really do hope you have to live through something like that at some point in your life, maybe then you'll realize you are just a typical internet "expert."

Learning for the sake of learning just means your piss bored.

You don't hear many people say "gosh i'm so bored I think i'm going to go pick up a copy of Physics for dummies". What you do here is "im bored, lets go rent Hot Fuzz and eat some twizzlers".

Never mind the fact the whole education system, at least in the US, is a poster child of not wanting to learn. What kind of moron thought up the idea of shuffling kids around to different subjects every hour on the hour and expected it to be enjoyable. No wonder trade schools are packed of high school dropouts. Its not that they are dumb, its they are smart enough to ask the question "Why the fuck am i doing this when I can actually learn a useful skill to live by"

I've always wanted to get one of those. Ever since I saw waterworld. Something about dropping million+ dollars though stopped me.

Its not really "logical or practical". If it was then we would also adopt "round-abouts" that also are proven better for roads than stoplight. Along with many other systems used.

So many things seem practical logical now-a-days, but the cost of them makes the illogical and impractical.

Its really bad in business when it comes to technology. The cost up upgrading negates the "need" for something.

The same argument vs metric/imperial could go for language barriers. Yah Chinese is better to learn than Spanish for business but who the frack wants to learn Chinese when its so far away when spanish is across the border.

That guy was high on something, you don't just get up and run at full speed after getting tazed.

Officers don't need reason to arrest you on warrents, they just know you have a warrent they don't give exact reason. Most of them simply state persons name and known locations in area. The officers can get more info on it if they choose.

Only warrents i've seen that list charges are for felony.
