The real awesome will start when MP servers support monsters. As the way the game is currently for multiplayer it is currently permanently "peaceful" which is not a bad thing depending on how you view things. However I like going into a dark cave and uncovering a few blocks and then suddenly spiders and penis monsters creepers pour out and try to kick your ass.

I've had a few ragequit moments though... like when you manage to get some diamonds only to die on your way back to your base. Remember folks... BACKUP YOUR SAVE GAME OFTEN!

Three weeks now into the game and I still have not managed to touch anything advanced like minecarts (with boosters) or redstone circuits. The latter of which alone is amazing in its own right.

I guess we can say that movie is no longer of obscure status now. The music they used didnt really fit well though

Disclaimer: I've played this game for the past two weeks, even ahead of Civ V.

The graphics are the LAST thing you worry about in this game. I was wondering about all the fuss until I tried it myself. It's FUN as a combination creative/survival game. Thats all that matters. It's fun. You don't necessarily need HDR Pixel Shader 3.0 DX11 for fun. (Well if you really hate it, some people have made updated graphics packs to increase the realism anyways)

The dude is still pulling in $100k a day as well. For a single developer indie game. He is doing something right.

I'd like to know if he actually mined all the redstone or just used an inventory editor to do that. Because this would have taken weeks worth of mining in game just to get the components necessary to even start building this.

I do have the game, and it is quite addictive. That is till you try to build something complicated like this only to find out you missed a block somewhere out of thousands or tens of thousands and it does not work. Or even much simpler and it still does not work

The pig killing machine though does not make any sense. You have to use a hack to even get a monster spawner to make pigs and then he is playing on peaceful difficulty. No reason to even collect the food if you wont by dying!

I find it ironic that (assuming this is serious) they say it contains lead, when actual pencils never had lead to begin with... ever... and yet we still call it pencil lead.

I remember reading how Paul Verhoeven wanted to have an erect penis in Basic Instinct but this was one of the MPAAs big no-nos. This was also mentioned in the IFC documentary Indie Sex by other directors facing the same problems.

For anyone interested, they're having trouble with the servers this weekend (September 19) so (being the nice folks that they are), rather than screw everybody, they're effectively having a "free weekend" until they get things fixed, so you can download it and play for free until whenever that is (they say probably Monday the 20th).
Very creative, very interesting game. I'll probably buy it when the servers come back online, though I'm not really sure I have the patience for it.

I guess its gotten to the point they simply stopped caring because people will buy the game anyways. A friend of mine is SC2 gaga and cant get enough of the game as it is despite its problems. He plays it because its Starcraft, not because its good or he likes it.

Then again they dont really have much of an excuse despite the PC platform, they have all sorts of anti-hack checks in WoW now it makes no sense why they would not try to extend this to SC2. Doing this sort of thing in WoW now (teleporting around the world, if that even still works) will pretty much get you insta-banned.
