Obama apologizes for being a cockblocker

This is both old news and TYT piggybacking on one of my favorite radio shows (Wait Wait Don't Tell Me). Peter Sagel's explanation on the original clip is better, too, though I guess we'd have to post that on Audiosift.

Palin on Abortion Clinic Bombers - Not Terrorists

13314 says...

Anyone can define any word however they want, but a standard definition of terrorism is a tactic whose primary aim is to spread fear among noncombatant populations. Thus killing soldiers in battle is not terrorism. Its primary aim is to destroy the enemy army. Bombing factories is not terrorism. Its primary aim is to prevent the enemy from equipping his forces.

Naturally blowing up civilian buildings, especially symbolic ones like the US capitol, would fit this definition. Firebombing entire cities (like we did in Germany and Japan in WW2) also fits. Blowing up abortion clinics makes people who want abortions too scared to go get them. It probably fits too.

I believe most Obama skeptics are not suffering from a belief that his proposed tax plan will adversely affect them. They instead believe that, once in the white house, he will break his campaign promises and jack up their taxes because that's what Democrats do. Also his political record has at times been sympathetic to tax increases.

P.S. I don't put myself in this category. I personally believe that with 2 wars and a $10 trillion national debt, we should be paying more taxes across the spectrum.

The Obama Youth

This stuff isn't especially weird to me.

I spent a year of college living in close proximity to an African American fraternity. They had a quite similar training regimen for their pledges, though the chants were about fraternity history, values, and rivalries. Naturally the script and the moves were of higher caliber than this. The pledges became members during an hour long show held for the public. There was informal competition with the other black frat on campus to have a more impressive show with wittier insults.
