Also.............you fail to understand the simple concept i've tried to put across that.
The point is invalid if it's extreme to the point of incomparability. So fair enough you were trying to make a point. But......the point is completely deemed void because you're making it using wrong assertions.

Well Bishop, i'm not being hypocritical at all.
The 2 cases are completely different, and the reason is you have to look at the context in which they were said.
You were picking up on westys spelling, which is insignificant in terms of putting his point across, and the words were still readable. I was picking on the fact that society has adopted this ridiculous thing of replacing 'have' with 'of' because of the way they speak, and adopting it as normal english, which is completely different to spelling a few letters wrong, because you're changing an entire word, it's a very retarded thing to do. Also when westy says something, his spelling doesn't immediately make the sentence retarded, because he strings together a logical sentence which makes perfect sense, and is articulate in the way he puts his point across. Now, in this case, your poor analogy from the previous video argument actually stands in this, because someone is completely changing a word to the point of annoyance. It's the fact that common people who say 'of' instead of 'have' (because only the common people in this country talk like that as it's their accent) has somehow been accepted as the norm and no one picks up on it.
Also, i wasn't criticising his point at all, i wasn't saying 'your sentence wasn't correct therefore your point isn't' whereas YOU were saying westys point was invalid, just because of his spelling - as westy has put in the above post.
It's very easy to put something out of context and criticise it. As you've demonstrated.
I also demonstrate my annoyance in this particular thread by repeating it in a 'rant' form, so it is clear that i'm showing my annoyance at the way society has adopted this way of speaking as the norm, rather than a specific grammatical error.
It's also an easy thing to change, where'as westys spelling, for whatever reason, is the way it is, but it's obvious that it's not done on purpose, and the points he makes as i've said, are articulate and clever, and so his spelling is excusable as it's irrelevant to the discussion - you made it relevant. And it isn't.

'I sincerely disagree. If you feel it OK to speak, spell and/or communicate in in whatever fashion takes you fancy, go ahead. Here's an idea, why don't you swap all your "d's" with "m's", "o's" with "e's" and so on??? I mean it's your choice right? Only at some point, someone will get a bit irritated at having to decipher your code. What is kinda what my issue is with Westy's spelling'

but he's not doing that is he? You've completely blown out of proportion and exagerated his spelling to make your point to counter mine - and therefore its a completely invalid counter argument.
He's not replacing letters in words to the point where it's unreadable. It's still clearly readable and understandable. Clearly it isn't to you, but it is to everyone else. He's not swapping all d's with all m's. Is he. No he is not.

Your response thus far is invalid and void.

BisHOp69, it amuses me that you would go on a rant against the spelling ability of someone who's commenting on a video. The point of commenting on a video is to voice the opinions of what one thinks about the video, the manner in which this is done is hardly of any significance.

You also have failed to Actually comment on any point westy has actually made, with regards to the video, and instead start picking on his spelling. Maybe it's because you can't dispute what he said about US comedy being of a more obvious nature than in the UK?

You also say 'i fear your spelling to be a deliberate attempt at breaking with convention'....and then comment on your own opinion, based on nothing but an obscure conclusion you've come to. Why don't you think hard about any other reasons why a person may not be able to spell properly. Just think about it.

no, the reason why i wrote what i did is because its not even a case of bad grammar, otherwise i'd bother writing full sentences with puncutation. The amount of people saying 'of' instead of 'and' because when they talk they say 'couldn't of' (i dont) is shocking.
im not having a go at the fact that its grammatically wrong, im having a go at the retardedness of it. it harks the downfall of society.

The only thing wrong with this video (well, one of the things wrong) is the 'school asked them to wear red white and blue to show their patriotism'.

Patriotism is the dumbest thing ever, next to religion. 'Oh i was born here, therefore i should love this country above all others'. What the hell sorta mentality is that?
