and card cataloguing... many students are still baffled by the rows and rows of empty card files in the basement, I think my generation was the last to even be taught how to use them, much less remember the days before library databases.

reminds me of the hours spent in the tombs of bound periodicals, slated for desrtuction,at a nearby college(not almamattering)_ I salvaged what I could from volumes of Modern Plastics Magazine, and Natl. Geo's goin back to 18 or another,,the whole time, dreaming of that sexy librarian, above me wondering,"What the hell is taking that freak so long!?"
