LOL @ Mlx. Even loading this after being notified took a few seconds. Sheesh.
Wow and I thought I was the only one going through this. Everything feels really slow on the site.
let's all hold hands and go through this together!
well, i tried something and this could be it... i've always had noScript block google-analytics. i unblocked it when i became a charter member, just cause. i dunno... but the site became so excruciatingly slow that it took more than mere seconds to load the page, let alone a video. i blocked it again, and viola, it's back to good ol' speedy VS.
i can't say that it's the entire problem, nor really the problem at all. i hate to somewhat promote the blocking of a service that VS uses (presumably to track traffic on the site), but it sure sped things up for me.
Good advice Pho3n1x. The NoScript addon is here.
However having installed it I noticed marginal performance increases, the site was still way faster then before
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
We might have some aberrant traffic issues, but having said that - it's pretty speedy for me at the moment.
it is also working well for me at the moment. Earlier today though it was definitely a little slow. We have been experiencing some apache errors, but I have been in touch with the support people and they gave me a couple of commands to try out if it continues to be an issue tomorrow.
Ok, we were suffering a DOS attack, I have blocked a slew of ips. Hopefully this will speed up the site, seems to have already worked for me. Hopefully I didn't nuke anyones account, I'm looking at you benjee.
