Revisit full episode rule

Now that CBS, NBC, Comedy Central, Adult Swim, HULU, etc. are posting embeds of full episodes (usually with ads)

Should we revisit the rule about full episodes? I understand the concerns are that they were/are not stable and often removed quickly due to copyright. I guess another concern is region blocking for US only viewing, etc.

I'm not actually suggesting doint it now, but looking down the road, this is where internet video sites will be headed. I'm thinking Playlist of favorite 80s episodes. Not posting EVERY southpark episode, but maybe the best ones.

Good point, dirt. I think we should allow full episodes. Region blocking should no longer be an issue, because now there's software available to defeat it.

Just as long as I don't have to see your movie again.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

The rule was put into effect to prevent "unauthorised" full episodes- but your point is valid, there are a lot more legitimate full-episodes online now, with the rise of Hulu and others.

It's a pretty major change to the Sift philosophy though- I think this calls for a vote. I'll put a poll together and post it.

It needs its own damn channel, too-and full-length movies or documentaries stay off the episode channel.
Thing is, there are plenty of sites to hit that already cache em' all

True enough Choggie, but not all of us frequent the other sites unless we're shopping for VS.

The full-length channel could work. But would we be policing constantly for full-lengths that aren't approved to share?

We already have a long invocation. I've not noticed if there's a way to filter sifts to see just (*)long ones.

Maybe an invocation for full-length sifts would be all we need.
