Opera and Classical collective?
Anyone think such a collective would be a good idea? I would join up for sure as I think these kind of posts are a bit thin on the ground.

She already has her own TV show.. How many video clips to I need to see. What else, Dr. Phil videos also?
Sounds interesting!
Sorry Joe? Who's "she"?
Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)
Opera != Oprah. LOL - joke right?
Ah I get it.
I'm all for it!
Could it include theater, perhaps? Theater clips are few and far between, but I have sometimes found full recordings or clips of stage plays (on google video at least).
Only if we spell it theatre
Well we'll see how it goes. I'm not too au fait with how to set up a collective or customise it but if no one steps in then I will give it a shot.
I think it's a good idea!
How about Musical Theatre as the collective name?
*quality

I don't know if it could do any good: opera and classical music are good, sure, but they lack visual appeal. If it was an "audiosift" i'd say go on, but having an entire collective of videos where the video itself is almost irrilevant... well i don't think i'd like it, for this reason. Just my 2¢
Good point Looris. There can be some visual appeal in these sort of clips e.g today I found a wicked ballet/acrobat routine that conceivably could be shoehorned in to such a collective. The best clips I have seen here with regards to classical are the piano performances and they do get sifted - just about. So now I'm not too sure.
BL968, I don't think Musical Theatre would quite fit as it basically sounds like Broadway musicals and not opera/classical, though I'm not against including theatre or musicals.
Well it would then be able to cover opera, ballet, and broadway. Which should give you plenty of source material.
All we need is a snappy name then...

I don't think there is a lack of material for this idea. I'm thinking clips of composers bios and interviews, animated clips with classical music, pieces about the production side of theater (costuming, set design, choreography) historical videos, etc. Just send me an invite when it's up and running!
Right, I'll set it up in the morning and mull over the name. Thanks for the suggestions dotdude and bl968, I will probably use one of those. Bravo! is looking good, nice and simple.
"Oprah and Dr. Phil sing the classics" -- that's your collective name
That made me laugh
