Where's the OSCON being held oohahh - give us the details. What are you doing there?
I think this is it, I found it via google:

OSCON, O'Reilly's Open Source Convention, is in Portland, OR, my hometown. There are a few thousand geeks here doing the Perl thing. The Ruby thing. The Python thing. Talking and learning about databases like PostgresQL and MySQL. There's also AJAX, Apache, and ANT. All manner of geekish stuff.
Here's the [freaking huge] schedule: http://conferences.oreillynet.com/os2006/grid/

Perl, Ajax, yum. Wish I was there. Are you working?

Duh. you said you were working in your post.
oohahh, I will be in portland at least one day in august between the 13th and the 21st. Can't make it this time but I would be down for some coffee or something as I am going to form my opinion of the city.
James: we have some mighty fine coffee (viz. http://StumpTownCoffee.com ). We'll see what you think, my treat.
dag: OSCON is the best training opportunity for me these days. I ran into some work issues where my compan(ies) didn't want to pay - long story there - so I kinda whored myself out to the Perl Foundation for a session pass.
Working the booth is pretty fun. It's all talking about Perl, getting people excited about it, getting communities built... so yeah, it's easy rewarding work that I probably would have been doing anyway, only this way, I feel like the luckiest whoreboy in the world (with all apologies to Pee Wee Herman)
