Less days in queue [yet another proposal]

I've noticed most videos get published the first day, or not at all. If they get into queue-top15, they get a new change in the third day.

So far, the second day, and the part of the fourth day where the video is still not deleted, are useless

What about doing something about it? Not sure about what: shortening the queue would have a bad impact on collectives, and creating new "queue-top15" for the other days too might be a design problem (such as "where do I put them"?).

From my experience I find most of my videos *don't* get published the first day. I have to help and nurture them along, they are like those little chicks trying to climb up steps...

I try to be a bit random sometimes when voting so I'm not always just looking at the first queued page.

escape level should remain at 10

and escape time should remain at 4 days - am especially adamant on this one- a lot of really good stuff only makes it on the last day- the top 15 expiring list has helped a lot with that I believe... and, there are some of us, who actually prefer to sift the queue backwards... habitually I set the queue to display, 'most votes first' or 'oldest first', so I can help things I possibly missed the first time around... maybe if more sifters did that... just a suggestion

for all yer last minute expirations, I usually work the queue backward through the, 'bout to expires, and then backward to the last time I was online....or just hit random..

hope the queue list at the right will be more dynamic as well, next iteration-

I'm with bluecliff and while I have my prefs set to view 30 vids as my default per page I still think thumbnailing videos(as I have stated this several times)is the way to go. You could fit 50+ per page then envoke a neato lightbox effect when you press play. This would help get more queue videos some face time.

Comment hidden because you are ignoring dag. (show it anyway)

Have a look at VideoSift.pl grspec. They are doing the thumbnail lightbox trick. We may go this way for videosift.com, but it's kind of nice to not have a middle step between viewing a video too.

Dag this is the functionality i was thinking about http://www.gobekdeligi.com/videobox/

also there is the one extra step to make it play but perhaps it can be coded to auto start the video after the first click. I would think if you could also get comments to load too, you then solve two problems. When your watching a video and want to comment you have to click the link to get to the comments which starts the video over. If you could load the video and the comments into the above you could then watch your video and comment without ever having to lose your place in the video.
