One of my all-time favorite books, Cloud Atlas looks set to be made into a Wachowski Brother movie with Tom Hanks and Halle Berry. I wouldn't have thought this movie would be filmable- and would definitely be a non-standard sectioned-off narative akin to something like 2001 A Space Odyssey. It's really a bunch of novellas that are losely connected together. One of the sections has possibley the most horrific and grandly imagined dystopian futures I've ever read. If you're a fan of Margaret Atwood, Neal Stephenson or Charles Stross - I'd recommend this book highly - and cross your fingers for the film.
