Dead videos fixed with the wrong video.

Not sure how many of these there are in the entire sift... but so far, I've come across two.

This was replaced by some lame music video version. Granted, the youtube video title was just 'The Animatrix - Final Flight of the Osiris' but I think ppl should at least play the video before fixing.

This was replaced with the incorrect chase scene which I guess is forgivable since there are two chase scenes in the movie.

I've left a msg on qruel's profile for the first video over a month ago but no change yet. The second video's owner, NTB, seems not to have been active on the site for at least 10 months. So how can we fix them?

I've wondered if this happened much. I once wrote a user to say I had replaced their dead link with a slightly different video (it was a nina simone video that had the same sound, but different visuals), and he wrote back to say he liked it, but i was aware at the time that I didn't have to mention it to him, and I wondered how often things had been "fixed" the same way I got my cat fixed.

I think the toughest part is not knowing exactly what the original was. As a general rule if the tumbnails match, you're probably good, and sometimes even if they don't it's still okay because someone may have put in titles causing the thumbnail to shift. If the VS submitter put the run time on the post, that helps verify the clip also. I'd say it should be 90% the same to be a good match.
