Comment Searching is Fun!

Here are the top all time voted comments. I had a good time just reading the first few.

You can also spend a while looking at the very first comments ever posted. It's funny how 2 years ago sounds like it should be a long stretch back, but the things discussed could easily have been topical last month as far as my mind goes.

The same goes for my oldest comments. They seem too recent in my mind to be my very first comments. I could've sworn I had more to say before those ones.

Have you discovered anything interesting with the new search features?

I have always suspected that Sift time is actually longer than "meatspace" time. When I see "published by X 11 months ago" I think no way, that was like two years ago.

I think it's because things change so quickly around here. Anyway, that's not what you were asking about. The search tool is fantastic. I haven't gotten near to experimenting with its full depth. Can it find car keys? Mine are missing.

Fir$t Posts!

Choggie: Butt stoopid! These guys should get work in a cheese factory!

KP: Actually she's Polish. I still upvoted you. These minor discrepancies can be forgiven

IssyKitty:Yes, agree with twiddles... the annoying grating sounds of the bipeds were highly distracting from fully enjoying cuteness.

MG: The cups definately had it right - WTF?

DFT: And after filming his part, Joe Lieberman voted to authorize thousands of additional soldiers to die killing thousands of Iraqi's. A violent culture is already upon us, and it is sponsored by the US government.

Schmawy: oops. I was sure I clicked "geek". I's a noob. Ah! it can be fixed! Like the innerface on this innerweb page.

Rottenseed: What about all of the gas I waste driving from store to store to purchase products that aren't under one roof?
I enjoy the overused disclaimer before almost every stat: "estimated"
I'm sure that word can be interchanged with the phrase: "this number was manipulated for the benefit of our cause"

Ha ha. This could be em-bare-ass-ingly fun.

It's interesting that many of the highest rated comments seem very recent.

It's vote inflation. Once you started giving out stars for comments that got 15 or more votes people started voting for comments more. Also there are probably more registered users now, so with more voters come more votes, just like there are more 100+ videos these days than there were even six months ago, right around when I first joined.

I doubt that it's due to people's comments getting better as a whole. Except mine.

Well, I found out that a member hear thinks I'm a redneck moron... I guess he forgot to check "private" in the profile message.

But yeah, AWESOME new feature! Now how about that comment preview when editing a comment?

When I tried going to the very end of that "highest rated comments" search (page 34832), it just gave me a blank page. In fact, the last page it would give me is page 100. Is that by design or a bug?
