Comcast caps monthly downloads.

Comcast has announced that it will be initiating a monthly cap on the amount of data downloaded by users at 250Gb, roughly equivalent to 125 standard resolution movies. It appears as though most people will accept this limitation since most people don't even remotely approach this level of usage and would rather the network be faster. Users with extremely high usage will however be outraged. There will be a fee (i.e. FINE) for $15 for every 10Gb over this limit.

In my opinion, it is good that they are at least stating an official limit rather than being vague and choking people's bandwidth. However, it's a step backwards for internet development. How can we make the advances we want to make with limitations like this? They better increase that cap yearly or at least every once in a while.
