Channel Managers Wanted

With the absorption of collectives into channels and vice-versa - we now have a few original channels that do not have managers.

As it's now much harder to become a channel manager (250 star) this is a single opportunity for Sifters to jump the queue a little and get a channel.

We're looking for silver or gold star members who have an interest in the topic and would like to make the channel their own- to develop as a real sub-community. (CSS changes would be great)

So the channels on offer now are:

Drop me a PM or send me an email if your are interested.

We do have a couple of more channels that we are holding back for the moment.

This is a general 'channels' question:

I know there are a few couples out there that partner sift on the same name. What do you think about co-managing channels? Say if someone wanted to share management of a channel?

The original manager would be responsible... yet the partner he/she chooses could have editing access as well.

It would also be very useful if the manager went MIA or something and a major channel was left abandoned.

Thanks Snipe, animation is yours.

I like the idea of co-managers SG, there isn't any way to do it at the moment, but might be a good one for a future relase.

Dag, what about ability to appoint others as channel managers. In case people are gone a long time? Others can edit the channel settings or add proper channel classifications? The would probably have to be other non-channel owning golds..

this could lead to abuse, in theory. You do create a channel, pass it to a goldie, create a new channel, and so on. But this is only theory: it's so easily spottable that shouldn't be considered a problem, I think.

appointing someone else channel manager is fine, and the functionality is there - but keep in mind, that by doing this you are relinquishing your management of the the channel, it's up to your appointee to give it back.
