I know I am not the only one who has had trouble telling which of two identical submissions came first. It's especially hard if the later submission becomes published. The date is reset on hitting the front page, and if there were no comments soon after submission, it's very hard to tell.

I had one long, friendly conversation with someone else about which of two identical videos was first, and we send a message to Dag/Lucky asking which was submitted first, but there was no response. Perhaps Dag and Lucky don't want to be involved in such disputes--but why should this be a sticky question? One video will always be first, and the rules are clear.

If we just had time stamps on submission, it wouldn't take any extra admin time, and there would be no subjectivity. (By the way, the friendly discussion above was resolved by my discarding my vid, but I just discarded another because it was too hard to compare times and I didn't want to make a scene--and I am really not 100% sure that I did the right thing.)
