I've been noticing that when playing videos here that they'll stutter every few minutes or every few seconds. All this time I thought it was something wrong with my system, and it was driving me crazy. I just now figured out what is causing it.

I just happened noticed it while watching a long video. Every time the "Friends O' the Sift" panel refreshed, the video stuttered.

I tend to open several videos in tabs, so when each of those tabs refreshes its side panel, my video stutters. The more tabs open, the more side panels to refresh, and the more the video playback stutters.

So can the sift overlords turn off the auto refreshing side panels, so I can watch videos without them stuttering?
