I knew all along that the thread about the siftquisition was going to be for nothing. If last night I wasn't stuck in a cheap hotel room with lousy wi-fi (where I couldn't watch videos but only comment, strange...right?) and 20 bucks of 2 dollar pints to the dome, I wouldn't have even got involved.

But since I did I will say that I do not apologize for the content of my comments, only some of the pointless rambling I no doubt did. I stand by my comments and if the violation flood-gates are going to be opened I'll just sling a pony-keg over my shoulder and climb a tree, make friends with the birds, and start donating to audobon society.

I stand by my comments as well... however I'm moving them over the self-promotion talk where they might actually be constructive.

I too stand by my comments and would like to take this moment mlx to tell you that I do not feel that you handled this at all innapropriately... the issues I've long had with the TAYTV collective in no way compare to the self-linking, advertising, and cross-promotional gain that came to light yesterday (and I thank you for bringing them to light)... I was shocked and appalled at the breadth of this issue and I feel that just sweeping it under the rug because we feel guilty about how it was handled will do no good for the future of this site.

Hey mlx, don't sweat it. If I would have googled and found the same stuff, I would have reacted the same. It's good intuition, and yes occasionaly I look into "who the hell is this, and why are they posting this video with their logo".

So yeah, it was a good find, and too bad people had to jump to extremes. In some regards I already knew this about TayTV and it was obvious from his welcome email that this was condoned and a home away from home. So I wouldn't feel used or like there was any malfeasance.

And there are other regulars who are online media specialists as well.. so I just kind of take it in stride except for corporate sponsored spammers.

And myself, while you may think what you will, we are no different than anyone else, in that some endear themselves to us while others we recoil from.....I stand by my convictions that fedquip is a tool, and brings the dynamic of the group down-and expect, a small degree of ostracization, derision , not unlike christians who, while tolerating homosexuality in the workplace, maintain a seething, inner vibe to the contrary-
