Regarding channels, from a serious point of view, I was thinking about middleeast as a channel. I grew up in Abu Dhabi and still have family in Dubai and have always been attached to the place. However, I think it'll get mixed up with Islam too much - not that it should, Islam is a religion, Middle East is a place. But I still think it'd be a pain to moderate from that point of view.

Really wished I was here in time to create videogames.

middleeast is a good choice, even if it's a bit of a bitch to write and invoke. It saves us from the more inflammatory waronterror + islam connection.

How about *skills? We have two channels dedicated to people fucking up, but nothing for people showing their bad ass skills.

Great idea. I think *badass would be a perfect name for a channel.

How about *badtag or something like that. Then there will be a channel that starts to pick up all of the videos that were poorly tagged(and possibly could use a redo).

Skills would end up covering quite a broad range of videos, though ideally you wouldn't want it to. I'd want to see genuine skills of a person. The reality is, a skateboarder doing a one off trick might end up in there - "that skater's got skills!"

How about instead of creating a new channel when you hit ruby, you get to veto an existing one? Or even get shared responsibility of one, or take over one that's currently got nobody running it, since there really are more than enough channels as it stands.

I do also like the idea of "skills", but I'm concerned that it would end up getting all sorts of videos that aren't necessarily skills... for example...

My suggestion is to make a channel that encourages new content rather than a channel that's just another way to categorize all our MSNBC, Louis CK, and cute kitten videos.
