@Deano is proposing a new skillful channel, titled "Exceptionally skilled people". Deano describes the channel thusly:
This channel is a home for all kinds of remarkable or near exceptional skills, demonstrated by people from all walks of life.

Being good enough won't get you admitted. When you visit this channel be prepared to see people performing astonishing skills.
See this post for some examples of videos that would fit in the skillful channel.

it should be home to the exceptional. There are lots of good guitar players but those doing something particularly skillful or unusual could be added. Ultimately the channel owner will have to be strong and make sure that not every half-decent guitar solo is included.

This is why I think this channel is too subjective. Having a channel "owner" decide which piece of music (or anything else) demonstrates "skill" is not really helpful unless the idea is to create a personal list of what that channel owner thinks is skillful.

If that's the case then WTF is too subjective. And what REALLY counts as Engineering? And shouldn't a lot more videos be History given that they're all past events?

I believe that if you select the exceptional or skills that are practiced by so few that the best is immediately obvious then you end up with an interesting channel that I believe will be popular.

There are always disputes over channel tagging but we work it out in the end

The point is this - will people see Skillful and want to see what's in it? I believe they will.

You bring up good points that apply to the whole system of channels as it exist now--however I think that @Deano has answered them.

I vote yes. (that's the way the system is--we have to roll with it).

(note: don't be "speechless" you have a good voice--
I hope to hear more from you )

This seems much more difficult as it's almost always subjective. A fire channel is pretty straight-forward. If there's fire in the video, it goes in the fire channel. But with a skill channel, it seems that what some might consider skillful others might see as mediocre. I can see this channel getting a lot of nochannel invocations and some arguments just from the subjective nature of it.

What would life be without arguments?

If there's an Actionpack video with an explosion in it does it always go in the Fire channel? If not, why not?
