Do you find VideoSift Slow?
We're going through a bit of a growth spurt - traffic is increasing and we want to make sure that everyone is getting their Sift fix in a timely manner.
By "Slow" I'm talking about pageloads and server response times. When you click a link - does it take a long time for the next page to load? When you submit a comment - does it take a while for it to show up? When you vote ... you get the picture.

I hate when I'm halfway through a video and I already wanna upvote but when I do it reloads the page and whatever I was watching is cut short. Unrelated to the poll but I figure this would be the place to express that frustration.
I usually only get teh reload effect if I do two things at once on a vid, so I only do one thing, usually the main vote, before doing a second thing, like posting a comment or upvoting other vids - particularly when invocations are involved. Avoids the reload annoyance.
I definitely getting a lag when I post new vids (which I can mostly deal with) but I'm also getting a lag when I post a comment and even sometimes when all I do is upvote.
Seems fine. Just posted a vid. No problem. Of course I assume that's why you're having the growth spurt
It's weird, but I don't think VS has ever been as fast as it is right now. Seems to have picked up some speed in the last couple of days.
It was getting rather slow for me, but I've recently added noscript again; something I normally don't use because it's annoying to whitelist every site I visit; and it's significantly improved.
google-analytics.com, glam.com and googleadservices.com remain blocked in my config.
Just trying on FF 3.5 RC2 and everything feels nippy without any extensions installed.
It's slightly annoying, but I can definitely deal with it...I'm not in any way turned off to the site because of it...
Mostly it's fine for me, with intermittent speed issues. Like right now. Painfully slow.
Why does 'intermittent' look so weird? It looks weird right? It's not just me? Why are you all walking away? Hey come back!
Sometimes I click through to the host to watch, and it's not any better, so I sort of think it's my connection or something else. It has gotten better in the past couple of days.
"does it take a long time for the next page to load?"
What defines a 'long time' for a site full of videos? 3 seconds? 10? 15?
I don't really know about the standards used to determine if a site loads slow or fast independently of the user's connection, but when I see the sum of all the content each section in this site has (embeds of multiple hosts, comments, and votes constantly coming in, etc.) I think it is rarely slow.
GGGGGGGRRRRRRRGGGHHHH SOOOOOOOOOOOOO SSSSSSLLLOOOOOOOOOOWWW!
When I have problems with vids, I'll go straight to YouTube.
About half the time, it's slow there, too.
I do have problems with LiveLeak vids being choppy, but it might be my video card.
I'm in USA, and Vimeo is usually no problemo at all.
^I don't think dag is talking about video loading times. This is about the loading of web pages on the sift, regardless of them having videos or not.
I do get some lag cases every once in a while, often in the order of several minutes worth of loading a single page. When that happens I usually look at something else and come back later. In the last couple of weeks I've had cases of the comment box freezing when I click "submit new comment", and the comment doesn't get posted at all. Something similar happens occasionally on video submission as well. But it seems pretty random when it strikes.
Dag, I demand that the absolutely free service and entertainment you provide me with arrive fast and forthwith!
Furthermore, I wouldn't the least bit surprised to learn all of you habitually smoke marijuana cigarettes!
Voting for this poll ended with the majority of users voting Sometimes but doesn't bug me too much.
All I notice is what a beautiful vote distribution you got there.
Normally the site runs wonderfully smooth. Any interruptions or slow-downs I experience is usually attributed to whichever wireless connection I'm on at the time.
