South African Football Fans' Hat: the Makarapa

This is an interesting story apparently from a Deutsche Welle news piece in 2009 (before the true nature of the vuvuzela was known) about a now-traditional hand-made hat for football fans crafted from a plastic hard-hat. Some of them are quite spectacular and I like the way it evolved from head protection to a work of art.
