released in 1987 savatage's "hall of the mountain king" was a concept album from start to finish with hints of classical using holsts "prelude to madness".while other progressive metal bands such as queensryche saw far better sales and fates warning receiving critical acclaim,savatage never got either the promotion nor the recognition for their contributions to the metal genre.now they have been relegated to playing small venues.
this entire album was fantastic and remains a favorite of mine.
