Original (1989) Prince of Persia reimagined in 3D!

"... In 1989 Prince of Persia revolutionized how we approached platform gaming. I know there are millions of people that are like me that spent countless hours as a kid arduously uncovering more of this glorious classic game. To us long-time Prince of Persia fans, we know all of the nooks and crannies of the game - so I tasked myself with recreating some of the most iconic and wonderful moments in 3D, using the original games screenshots.

Prince of Persia went on to inspire countless other games of similar genres and left and even left an imprint in the movie industry with a Hollywood film of the same title. Jordan Mechner (the original creator) is a true inspiration.

*creator notes* Prince of Persia is one of the most iconic games of all time in my life. It was the first game that our dad got us as kids, when I was only 7. It is part of the reason that I love animating and creating today. This video effect was achieved by taking screenshots and cutting out elements to make flat objects that I could then extrude in places and create a true 3D environment from a static image..."
