During qualifying for the 2016 Bathurst 12 Hour race, Shane Van Gisbergen (NZL) broke the Mount Panorama Circuit lap record.

Driving the Tekno Autosports McLaren 650S GT3, Van Gisbergen completed a lap of the 6.213 km (3.861 mi) track in 2m 01.286s.
