BSRsays...Swamp buggy races are the thing in FL.

newtboysays...Love the mile of mud track. The only racetrack I know of where getting bitten by a gator is a possibility during the race.
The buggies are fun, but I love the jeeps. Nothing like driving a car with the water level over your head!

00Scud00jokingly says...An amusing, if inefficient way to re-distribute top soil.
siftbotsays...Moving this video to newtboy's personal queue. It failed to receive enough votes to get sifted up to the front page within 2 days.
newtboysays...Actually, it's an interesting but inefficient way to fund their rescue services that save stupid Americans who go hiking where they don't belong and get stuck.
For years, they couldn't get on SKYTV, the European ESPN. They would film events and send them to SKYTV, never getting a reply. An organizer eventually called to find out why, and SKYTV told them they weren't interested in RC cars....Only to fall out of their seats when it was explained those are full size cars with drivers. At least that's what our host told me when we were in Iceland to see it live.

00Scud00says...Well I do have to admit, they kinda look like RC cars. But I've seen stuff like this before so I'm a little surprised that nobody from SKYTV has.

newtboysays...I think the very first one was in 65 or so showcasing rescue equipment, and it's been pretty much the same as now since 85 with two or three classes, but some serious advancements in the cars. I think our host said it wasn't televised until mid 2000's because of the disbelief from producers that people would actually do that.

00Scud00says...Producers vastly overestimate most peoples' common sense, but YouTube didn't get it's start until 2005 so perhaps all the evidence wasn't in yet. For giggles I tried putting 'Humans do' into Google thinking stupid shit would be a top contender, but apparently it's "Humans do battle in a ring of jello".
