That's exactly right.
Or can you now see the private checkbox when you post a new comment? I don't recall off the top of my head how long it takes before you're supposed to be allowed to use it.

Procrastinatron says...Good to know. In other words, the true glitch is the fact that I can edit comments to be private.
Yep, for a certain amount of time when you're a brand spanking new member you can't submit private comments because spammers used to sign up and start private spamming other member profiles.
