Is it safe to leave valuable things in your car?
the whole tennis ball thing does actually work on some vehicles. i had an '85(?) Audi 2000 that had some kind of pneumatic lock system that it worked on, but that's the ONLY vehicle I've ever owned that it has worked on. it's obviously not going to work on manual or electric locking systems.
the pneumatic locking system my Audi had was designed around being a 'luxury feature' of not hearing the locks go "ka-chunk" when locking and unlocking.
this video however, is almost certainly crap. as far as i know there is no way that would work, let alone unlock the rest of the vehicle in the process.
Golf ball deformation at 70,000 fps (!)
>> ^mxxcon:
isn't center of the golf ball actually a solid mass? so while surrounding might deform, center remains...that video is highly questionable. i doubt even a tennis ball would deform like that
Depends entirely on the ball in question. Some older balls had a small solid core with rubber string wound around it. There are balls that have for example a tungsten core, but most balls on the market today are just a large urethane blob with a (often titan infused) cover. Some higher end balls have multiple layers in the core.
Oh yeah, golf balls also hold the current ball speed record in sports, after Jason Zuback managed 204 mph on an episode of Sports Science. Old record was a 188 mph Jai Alai throw.

Dogs 1 Cats 0
A day in the life of a Dog:
"Look! a Couch! that's my favourite thing!... a Rock! that's my favourite thing!... foood! nom nom nom... a tennis ball! that's my favourite thing!... a door! that's my favourite thing!... etc, etc, etc....
A day in the life of a Cat:
"Day 1,347. The tall, pink creature has continued to thwart my escape attempts. While the food it provides seems satisfactory I can't help but feel that I am being poisoned. Poisoned by everything. My options are running out. If escape is not possible perhaps the creature can be eliminated. But how?"
Sixty Symbols: Explaining temp. (kelvin) and laser cooling

Serena Williams Threatens To KILL Line Judge
She said she was going to ram a tennis ball (or her racket, I don't remember) down her fucking throat. Not exactly "I'M GONNA KILL YOO". But anyways, this has been a most interesting US Open.
Big Spider Bite - NSFS! (Not Safe For Stomach)
Yep,
it's time you americans get some sort of working health insurance plan working.
cuz if a guy opts to work on his own spider bite the size of a tennis ball, it's obviously time to get something in place.
Levitation Fail
>> ^bovan:
I kinda like the definition of levitation... even though he fails on all points..
If you are to suspend yourself against gravity (all gravity).. You would no longer fall towards the earth, and as the earth moves you would simply continue on your on trajectory trough (and your corpse will fly out of) our solar system at roughly 100,000 km/h.
I'm sure if you do it inside, you might be able to stay on earth due to the surrounding walls, but you better hope there's noone around who wanna play a prank on "the floating guy who tries to pick up girls using magic tricks"... I mean.. once you establish how to have gravity not affect you, it might take some time to figure out how to reverse it..
You need to go back to physics 1 and revisit relative motion. In the universe you describe above (100Mm/h bloodstain) you also wouldn't be able to throw a tennis ball straight up while riding inside a train without the ball impaling you as soon as it leaves your hand...
anti-gravity or levitation is simply finding a way to produce and apply a constant force of 9.8 m/s^2 in the "up" direction. ("up" defined as the vector pointing away from the center of the earth).
q.e.d. this guy fails at life.
