Blankfist's new sock puppets (Sift Talk Post)

jazzy77 jokingly says...

gee whiz, I guess I don't care anymore.

Ok to be honest..... Lets see we all plotted this year or a year ago when we started posting video's. We spent hours and hours making video's and building an audience over time. Gathers subscribers and followings. Many of our vide's going viral. Then we picked a date to all sign up here and begin our attack, Ok we started slow only making nice comments on each other video and trying to say hi to other uses. All to get back at a couple of users on this site that we don't know but had kitty avatars. Silly us. Does this sound sane???

For the record please visit RockyBDemilleFan/feed She is a highly respected youtube channel that posts comments every day. AS we all do on video's we like. I'm thinking that is not something you value here??

It's kicking off! (Blog Entry by campionidelmondo)

Denmark had a very strong qualifying campaign, beating Portugal in Lissabon, so they could definitely be one of the surprises this time.

England started slow today, but they'll definitely pick up the pace for the coming games. Maybe the teams have to get used to the Vuvuzela madness. Definitely annoying, but it's their way of celebrating the game so we should learn to live with it somehow. I kinda hoped the TV stations would've found a way to filter out some of it, since it was just as bad during last years Confed Cup.

Firefox 3.5.2: A browsing fail (Geek Talk Post)

Croccydile says...

My only real gripe about Firefox is the aforementioned jittery videos when its been open for too long. It's still useable on my partly 900mhz laptop although it starts slowing down a bit quicker with too many windows open, but that's just how things progress with newer software. You run 2004 era software and browsers on a 2004 era laptop it will run like new.

The addons are too valuable for me to consider using a different browser. No, it's not just about AdBlock Plus.

I find memory to be usually a non-issue, I would have to open 100+ tabs to get it past 1GB of usage, and even then on a decent computer even with that much open it does not drag at least in 3.5. Now, if you open 100 tabs of videos that might be a different story.

My current mentality is that hardware is dirt cheap, and trying to squeeze the most out of an old machine can only go so far. Efficiency has deminishing returns... I would not want to browse the web on a 450mhz Pentium II even if it had 2GB of RAM and super-omg-optimized-funroll-loops-gentoo-linux.

i love how it starts slow and not so exciting and all you can think is 'wtf' and in the end you still think 'wtf' but are all happy and jumping around the room singing 'huggy party kisskisskiss'. or at least, that was my experience on watching this little vid.

^That's my favorite comment of the week so far!

Futurama - Benders Game Sneak Peek

Started slow and confusing, but Farnsworth as Gandalf? Amy as a Water Nymph-O? Guess it is going to be better than Beast With A Billion Backs after all then.

Oh and don't you just love that new, updated theme tune?

Zazen Meditation

rougy says...

"...a run of "think of something and then a day or two later here about repeatedly" it's like the coincidence meter is off the scale right now."

That's happening to me a lot now, too.

I practice zazen. Some things that work for me:

  • Start Slow - five to ten minutes per session

  • Count the in-breaths and out-breaths seperately

  • Work on getting your mind to the point where you're not counting your breaths, but mindful of them

  • Try to break the session when you're not distracted

  • Have some sort of ritual to demarcate the ended session, like bowing and repeating some sort of positive phrase aloud

I notice my awareness is heightened when I do it every day.
