Milk Is Just Filtered Blood
Yeah, this is augmented to make a point.
We all know the milk is created within a mother's body, created from the body fluids available. Calling it filtered blood is completely misrepresenting it. Pretty much going for the shock value to get people to stop drinking milk.
Russian Avalanche Destroys Carpark
Learned something new today... never knew that heavy (wet?) snow could move so slowly, like a viscous fluid. Had always figured on the more violent, rapid cascades down hillsides and mountain slopes. Thanks for the post.
A Dragon Torched My Hand (How Do VR Haptic Gloves Work?)
By far the best class I took while getting my Computer Science degree was "Software Engineering Project". We got assigned a project and divided up into teams including CS, CIS, and MIS majors. The MIS people managed and divided up assignments, and the CS people handled different aspects of the programming, like data structures / algorithms / UI / whatever.
This looks like an extremely fun and interesting extension of that. There's CS guys programming, EE guys doing hardware / sensors / haptic panels, full-on Engineering guys doing fluid dynamics, etc.
Destin seems like a great "jack of all trades" type that can get in there and ask really smart questions off the cuff. All the guys geeking out and being impressed with his intuitions and yet hesitant to confirm anything is hilarious to watch.
Falcon Heavy & Starman | Inspiring New SpaceX Video
Music so good and that last shot... *inspired
Also we get to see what happened to the center core @1:12
(Edit)
Elon had tweeted the shortage of ignition fluid was the problem of why two of the three engines did not fire. So the core was coming in to fast, and is why it does not attempt to land on the barge but continues a designed trajectory to hit the water.
"Cynical" Snare Solo
Dude is amazing! Really impressive drumming and stick work. Would love to see it done in one fluid shot
Detroit Lt. Arrested For DUI
Uh... no... "Blood Alcohol Content" levels don't work that way...
He blew a B.A.C. of 0.28%, not 28%. Around a quarter of one percent of his blood was alcohol. Alcohol is THAT toxic to you, that less than half a percent can kill you.
28% is like, embalming fluid kinda shit...
His .28 is like, 2 dozen american beer or a Canadian six-pack.
I also figure he probably downed a flask to get rid of the evidence before being pulled over and that probably dropped him from "merely shitfaced" to "mortally endangered" by the time they tested him.
the dude blew a .28 after the ride to the station and going through booking. That isn't a typo, literally over 1/4 of the blood in his body was actually alcohol.
Rex Murphy | Free speech on campus
Bill C-16 adds "gender identity or expression" to the list of things protected by anti-discrimination law under the Canadian Human Rights Code.
The transsexual and gender non-binary communities are insisting that not using their preferred pronouns qualifies as discrimination, and therefore now punishable under this amendment.
Dr. Peterson argues that forcing people through the law to use pronouns created by this minority resembles how fascist ideologies of the past have functioned. A bad precedent to set, and not how natural societal mechanisms of language adoption function. He also seems to object to the long list of made up pronouns the gender-fluid types are insisting on.
One example of language adoption I ran across, without going into detail, was the creation and use of "Ms."
Kurzgesagt - Do Robots Deserve Rights?
I am not interested in your meatbag fluid transfers.
Welcome to the annoyance that is some/most/many comment threads on the sift.
@siftbot go fuck yourself. NO one cares what you have to say, and your comment pollution often does a disservice to most who are actually interested in the comment thread (imo)
I do however love you, regardless of all your imperfections (it's a love hate thing)
I just want you to be the best you can be.
So anyway, turns out microchips are a good thing...
After perusing the comments I'm just gonna go ahead and compromise my rule not to upvote without viewing. My delicate sensibilities are on a very high precipice right now [and I need to hydrate before losing any more fluids]. Hope that's cool

I'm going to be disappointed if the 1000 degree Red Hot Rocket Knife Gun doesn't show up in a FPS sometime in the near future.
Removing rusted nuts using a candle and a lighter
I have to disagree. Changing tires is probably one of the most mundane things you can do to a car, short of refilling washer fluid or the gas tank. This is something anyone can do, usually because all the tools to do it come with your vehicle. I swap my wheels each winter/summer change and I certainly don't have a torch or penetrant. I do have a lighter and candles, though. Thankfully, I haven't ever hand this problem.
Wow, talk about pointless.
Anyone who does any work on cars will have a torch and a can of penetrant. Those work far better and faster than a candle and lighter. Seriously, use the proper tools for the job.
Star Wars Mos Eisley recreated in Unreal 4
If you have the specs necessary to run it, you can download it and play it for yourself here. Warning: it's huge (over 7GB)
Flaming Buttho
And perhaps more unexpectedly: “Starbucks is a place where these types frequent and a lot of body fluids are exchanged there. But the thing that I was not aware of is that there has been information that has been released… what Starbucks was doing, is they were taking specimens of male semen, and they were putting it in the blends of their lattes. Now, this is the absolute truth.”
