4) blaming the collapse on poor infrastructure which they blame on Democrats despite Republicans having voted against the first meaningful infrastructure bill in decades, a Democrat written and sponsored bill they all take credit for now.

Meanwhile the White House has sent federal assistance, sent the Secretary of transportation, and already pledged the army core of engineers to clear debris and rebuild as fast as possible using federal money to be recouped from the shipping company later (not wait years to rebuild while we litigate their responsibility).

Trump has a new defense….he didn’t declassify the documents he stole but that’s fine, because he still has full top secret clearance and once Mar a Lago was a temporary SCIF (with now removed security measures and personnel), so leaving the top secret classified state secrets in ballrooms and hallways open to the public, photographed by the public, is a nothingburger. The problem, 1) he does NOT still have presidential level clearance, he lost it on Jan 20 and 2) the temporary SCIF designation was dissolved well before 2020. The news said he took mushrooms days before the incident, trying to tie them together….nonsense. Mushroom trips last hours, not days.

The effects are not low. The difference in cost of a serious car crash with and without seatbelts is in the hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars.

Again, because you can be “at fault” through no fault of your own, and responsible for all injuries the other driver suffers, it’s not just smart but the only responsible move to be forced to wear them and minimize the shared risk.
It’s 100% unfair for the other driver to be allowed to take the high risk of not wearing it but you have to pay for the consequences of their irresponsibility….don’t you think?
The difference here as opposed to, say, obesity is the risk/consequences of the irresponsibly transfer to others regularly and often completely (at least financially).

It absolutely looked like auto pilot taking control to me, I’ve never heard of someone mistaking the gas pedal for the brakes for 1/10 that timeframe, it’s usually under 1 second before they crash.

Hate to tell you but Tesla has denied fault every time auto pilot has failed. For instance, last year autopilot was involved in 273 crashes but only 35 had been reported since 2016, so clearly Tesla under reports. NTSB found that Tesla automatically turned off auto pilot just before it was going to crash to hide auto pilot involvement. New rules force reporting if auto pilot was in use 30 seconds before any crash, and cases increased exponentially overnight.

70% of all driver assistance involved crashes were Tesla.
5/6 fatalities were in Teslas, and the vast majority of serious injuries. (Now 7/8)

China does not trust Tesla to read the data without erasing or manipulating it. Reports I read said they were using a third party to go over the data because they believe Tesla will cover it up….as they believe Tesla has done before.
