Mel Brooks Misses Being Able to Call Gene Wilder
Anne Bancroft, Mel's wife (Mrs. Robinson), was only 73 when she died of cancer. :=(
This picture makes me happy and sad: Mel and Anne
Look at this incredible picture: Mel, Alfred, and Anne
More awesome but sad pics: John and Gilda
The icing on the cake is an interview with Gene wilder on Merv Griffith where he talks about how he dealt with his mother being close to death, how he would try to make her happy by making her literally pee her pants: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IATnW4A_r8U
It's crazy, I binge watched hours and hours of Gene Wilder interviews sometime last year and this video is what stands out to me the most.
And this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5B3v7OKNvp4
Gene Wilder was such a unique actor!
Also, I just gotta say, everyone has got to heil hitler at least once in public to have truly TRULY lived! It's a nervous tick, mein fuhrer!
Where the New Mad Max Movie Fits in the Mad Max Timeline
There's a LOT of things ignored in his theory.
Most important to me is the ridiculous 'lone wolf=interceptor' theory. They are no where near the same thing, with no possibility of turning one into the other even if he found another totally undamaged interceptor body, which is another impossibility in the post apocalyptic wasteland, he had the LAST of the V-8 interceptors, more to scavenge from simply don't exist.
It's not the same Max, clearly. Just consider the flashbacks to his child being killed....not the same as what happened to Mel Gibson's family in the first movie at all.
The idea that Fury Road is an imaginary re-telling of a story of Max by a third party makes some sense, and would explain a lot of the inconsistencies, like the interceptor existing and Max looking 'wrong'. Really, to me, that's the only explanation for all the inconsistency issues....it's a poorly remembered, highly embellished, third party re-telling of a story about the real Max, nothing else makes any sense to me.
Baby Reacts to Skate Park Collision
Groucho, wasn't it, who said
I slip on a banana peel, it's tragedy. You slip, it is comedy. Or something like that.

EDIT: Looking for the actual quote and who said it, I found this from Mel Brooks:
“Tragedy is when I get a hangnail. Comedy is when someone else falls into an open sewer and dies.”
A Very Clever (& Dangerous) Russian Businessman.
The true story, inspired by Mel Gibson's fake one, "Ransom".
The names and country involved have been changed to reflect reality. In respect for the living, nothing else has.
"Whistle-Blow That Jew!" with Rashida Jones
that was pretty easy, but upvote for Jackie Chan being Mel Schwartz!
Gervais' Nastiest Jokes at Golden Globes, Pre-2016
Best joke still is "I like a drink as much as the next man... unless, the next man is Mel Gibson". That shit was on point.
Ricky Gervais Opens the 2016 Golden Globes
Odd that the question he asks Mel seems to be blocked in all videos.
Reportedly the question was "What does 'sugar tits' mean?" I'm not sure why that's unairable, but apparently THAT crossed a line.

Flying Whales
Because a whale is murdering its oppressors, which is ALWAYS fun and funny. I mean, I like British people but there's something about Mel Gibson murdering them in movies that just... that's also why we hate Mel Gibson, because he became the oppressor which we need to kill (socially). And now we are the oppressor.
If I saw a giant whale flying over my city, I would welcome it with dying arms. It's funny to know deep down inside that your own death, not out of self hatred or injustice, but out of a post-human sense of justice, could be absolutely hilarious.
Would the death of your civilization yield positive results?
Or at least laughs?
It did in this animation!!
Money is the root of all evil? Evil is the root of all things -- and it's funny to exist within the frames of constant existential doublethink!
Also, it's a cute whale, sort of like a Stay Puff of our current meme cycle -- which is over, because meme cycles are like 5 minutes or something.
I don't know why you like this as much as you do, nor do I know why I like it as much as I do...but I do.

Mad Max: Fury Road
Yes, but from what I've read, in part 1 they dubbed Mel's voice over with an American because they thought Americans wouldn't like/understand the Australian accent. Still, a young Mel clone would have been proper.
Non-Australian playing Max? Not happy George.
How To Speak Like Porky Pig
I met Mel Blank on several occasions on his trips to Vancouver.
He used to come and do performances at Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth Theater with the VSO. He'd show the cartoons in their entirety while the symphony would play all the music live. Mel would introduce all the cartoons and tell about how they were made. Afterwards he'd hang around for autographs and talks.
A great guy in person, the sort of guy you'd want to know and learn from.
I'm glad someone is able to carry out and expand on his legacy.
George Washington Vs William Wallace
Hm. A moderately (If I can judge that) historically acurate George Washington vs. the Mel Gibson fantasy of WIlliam Wallace. ERB has certainly done better in the past.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Wallace
"Sir William Wallace (...) was a Scottish landowner (...) a member of the lesser nobility (...)"
Most important, he was not a Highlander an as such did not wear a kilt or paint his face.
And....
"("Braveheart"), however, is a highly fictionalized account of Wallace's life and has been described by some as one of the most historically inaccurate modern films."
