Alan Partridge tries to do business in a make-shift office
This is from "I'm Alan Partridge: Series 2". Steve Coogan at his best.

This particular episode ends with one of my under appreciated sifts.

Utterly Surreal News Parody - "The Day Today"
you need to know that Chris Morris, the guy that made it, is a fucking genius.
Also in this clip is an early Alan Partridge, the Steve Coogan character that got his own series.
And you also need to know that this show was made in 1994, it's way ahead of its time, predicting very accurately the farce that television news has become.
Check out Brass Eye and Blue Jam also.

of course, the fact that this clip only has 3 upvotes is yet another sign that the queue is fucked. This is a classic show, a landmark in British broadcasting history, the best satire ever in the universe, the sound and picture quality are ok, and there's no fucking lolcats. If this isn't Sift material then I really don't know what the fuck i am doing here.
Please permanently requeue.
The Really Awful Weatherman
Is he a collegue of Alan Partridge?
Mentalist Eats Acid During Interview To Prove Her Innocence
A mentalist is a mental/crazy/insane person. I think it became commonly used over here due to Alan Partridge - I've personally been slightly addicted to the use of it ever since.
