The Most Distant Galaxy Ever Measured

Tony Darnell explains the recent ESO announcement of the most distant galaxy ever measured. The light we pick up from it left that galaxy over 13.1 billion years ago and would be one of the first galaxies to form after the Big Bang had cooled enough to allow stars to form and pull into galaxies and clear the early hydrogen fog.
