Satirical song and video about taking responsibility for yourself. Also a commentary on the current state of hip-hop music and the light it often ends up portraying African Americans in to the rest of the world. Instead of relating to listeners through materialism, stories of drug and alcohol use, or tales of how hard the artist is, neo-soul poet Bomani "D'Mite" Armah presents a sharply directed critique, via parody, by simply encouraging the opposite. "Fuck spinning rims" indeed!
