Lightning Strikes, Triggered with Rockets

Short video of rocket-triggered lightning; a rocket unwinds a wire or lays down a conductive chemical path as it ascends, providing a route of least resistance from ground to cloud for lightning to travel. This method of research allows for the relatively controlled (and close-up) study of lightning's characteristics and its impact on engineered devices.
