in what is in my opinion nicholas cage's finest role portraying a man determined to drink himself to death.based on an autobiographical novel by jon obrien who actually killed himself two weeks after signing the book deal.

what i found so poignant and sad about this movie was that even though the love that developed between ben and sera,his pain is so great it wont deter him from killing himself by drinking non-stop.nicholas cage was brilliant in this role.
