Indestructible is the story of Ben Byer's struggle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's Disease. It is one of the most brutal and devastating neurological disorders. Neurons in ALS patients degenerate, causing muscle weakness and death from respiratory failure or illness 2 to 5 years from onset. The cause of ALS is unknown, and there is currently no cure or effective treatment.
