"Inappropriate" Ad. Should Even Artful Nudity Be Banned?

"By now, you've likely seen the naked Calvin Klein perfume ad (for the new scent Secret Obsession) featuring actress Eva Mendes. No? As a public service to our readers, we present it in all its glory above. But make sure you catch it now, because the thing is, you won't be seeing it on TV anytime soon—and you can blame George W. Bush. American TV networks have said the spot is inappropriate and will not be shown in its current form. The move sent the ad's creative director, badass Frenchie Fabien Baron, into a fit of rage. And apparently the prudish move by U.S. networks is just one more reason to vote for Obama in November.

When Baron heard the news of his ad's demise (on vacation in France, naturellement), he laid into the Prez, saying: "This country really needs a new president—this country is so messed up.... It's such a joke and it's quite upsetting, frankly, how hypocritical this country has become. It's OK for children to see people killed by guns? Spreading a little love right now would be a good idea."

Eva Mendes, saving babies from guns, one nipple slip at a time. Now that's a reason for patriotism, isn't it?" -- From Radar
