Hubble Directly Observes Planet Orbiting Distant Star

For me this is amazing. Will we one day in my lifetime be able to put sensor data of an exoplanet together and construct accurate pictures of its surface?

I know we will use sensors far better than our eyes to determine the makeup of other planets and if there is life there, but some part of me just wants to be able to look at a real picture of an exoplanet and see blue,green,or whatever color oceans that could contain life.

If that day ever comes, I will have only one thing to say: "Drinks are on me"
