I first heard of this song in one of my favourite books, "A Thousand Shall Fall", by Murray Peden -- an autobiographical account of this Canadian flying with Britain's Bomber Command in the Second World War. I love the internet for letting me listen to it about 10 seconds after I decided to look it up.
