2009 Presidential Inauguration Liveblog
Welcome to the Liveblog. It's 1:30 AM here in Brisbane, all the Aussies in the house are asleep. The lights are all out, the 24" iMac is on the full-screened MSNBC feed and the laptop is ... on my lap.
Keep this post open and reload often for updates in the comment area. I'll update the main post with video feeds or good links as they come in through the comments below. We won't embed video in the primary post (you can in your comments) as reloading the page to view new comments would restart the video.
If you're in a time zone that brings to mind a few stiff drinks - you might want play along with SwampGirl's Inauguration Drinking Game. I may actually get up and go to work in the morning - so I will not be imbibing.
TechCrunch has a good round-up of online video feeds.
As does The Huffington Post.
If you're just looking for a reliable video feed, I recommend MSNBC's - from my experience of the debates it was the most dependable- and not region blocked.
Update 11:11 EST Here's a link to Al Jazeera's coverage from DeputyDog, which could have an interesting take.
Update 11:33 EST From Dark Rowan - an Eviction 8 years in the making
Update 12:08 EST Congrats America we have a new president. I take back the nice things I said about the MSNBC feed, it died in the clutch and got all stuttery. I've switched to the NYTimes feed, it's much better.
Update 12:34 PM EST It's 3:30 AM here. I'm off to bed. Thanks for joining me in the moment - I have to admit I feel ... hopeful. Please carry on - the parade is coming soon.
